I-SM - Split Image cs

Longtime friend of (and contributor to) Prime Ruin and member of the upstate NY sound art community, Ian Sherlock Molloy (Dearheart, Ian S.) returns with a cassette of new work. Deep layers of synthesis blend seamlessly with field recordings that evoke much of the present feeling of Spring. Like Ian's past endeavors, Split Image is nothing if not restrained and each movement passes with ease. Nothing jars the sense or overstays it's welcome, it all falls into place.

The fieldwork is really allowed to shine here, especially on 'Estes Point'. The fact that captured sound is chosen with intention is evident throughout the album, creating a very intimate listening experience. 10/10, with high hopes of hearing more from Ian sooner than later.
